Cafe Schweizer
Cafe Schweizer is one of the best restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden. It became a routine spot for us in our 4 days there. It serves what I would deem “traditional American breakfast”, as well as other Swedish pastries, sandwiches & quiches throughout the day. It’s conveniently located in Gamla Stan, only a few minutes from the Royal Palace. It’s open 7:00am – 7:00pm most days of the week, so you can stop for breakfast, lunch or fika!
Espresso House
Espresso House is a chain coffee shop in Scandinavia, so there are many locations throughout Stockholm. It’s fairly inexpensive and makes for a quick breakfast spot in the morning. Many of them also offer small outdoor seating areas, in case the weather is in your favor!
Artilleriet
Artilleriet is a popular lunch spot among locals, thanks to their massive outdoor seating area. We loved the chic interior and it’s location (next to the army museum). If you visit at lunch, expect a small, rotating menu of quality food at reasonable prices.
Villa Godthem
If you know us, you know we love afternoon tea so finding a spot in Stockholm was a must! We will say we hit the jackpot with Villa Godthem, as the tea was lovely. Located inside a 19th century villa, it offers beautiful views of the water and a cozy interior. It’s conveniently located walking distance to both the Vasa Museum & ABBA Museum so it’s an excellent stop to refuel! If afternoon tea isn’t your thing, they also have a lunch menu. They were very accommodating, as one person in our party preferred lunch vs. afternoon tea, and they were able to make a note of that on our reservation.
Stockholms Gästabud
We often plan a lot of our meals when traveling but Stockholm Gastäbud was one of those that was a last minute decision that paid off! It was conveniently located minutes from the apartments we were renting in Gamla Stan. While we had to wait an hour for a table inside the small restaurant, it was well worth it! Their Swedish meatballs are a must eat in Stockholm!
Glashuset
Glashuset was recommended to me by my colleague who is from Sweden, so I knew it was going to be a lovely spot. They have a large outdoor area, as well as a chic restaurant filled with natural light thanks to the large windows overlooking the harbor. Their cocktails were top notch and their traditional shrimp salad is great! I highly recommend making reservations as it’s one of the best restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden.
Luzette
Luzette is an upscale French Restaraunt located next to Stockholm Central Station. The meals were delicious and the service was exceptional. If you’re looking for a break from Scandinavian food, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some delicious French classics.
Fika & Wine
Located in Gamla Stan, right next to Stockholm Gästabud, is this cozy hidden gem called Fika and Wine. They have a small food menu but the real star are the desserts and pastries. One night on our trip we grabbed dessert to enjoy back at our apartment, but on our last night we decided to pop in for a drink. It was such a cozy spot thanks to the candles, books and vintage furniture. It was the perfect way to end our time in Stockholm!
Overall, the food scene in Scandinavia was impressive! Save this post for your next trip so you know the best restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden.
